Dear Parents and Carers,

A warm welcome back to all our families! I hope that you have had an enjoyable summer break. Thank you for sending your child(ren) into school looking so smart in their school uniforms and with wonderful attitudes today; your continued support is much appreciated.

School visits - payments

The school recognises that the increase in the cost of living is being felt by everyone. Therefore, to support our parents and carers with payments for school visits next year, we will be setting up a payment plan that you can pay into regularly over the year to pay for visits. More information will be shared soon.

Friends and Parents of Park Hill

A few of the long-standing F&PoPH left in the summer term as their children moved on to secondary school. If you are interested in learning about what the group does in terms of fundraising or events at the school, or you would simply like to have a friendly network of parents and carers to have a cuppa and a chat with, please speak to the staff in the main office. The group generally meet every fortnight on a Wednesday morning at the school. Occasionally, they will meet at a local coffee shop if they wish.

Important dates

Next week, there will be a series of Welcome meetings for parents and carers in the main hall. This is an opportunity to meet the new staff for your child and find out about what they will be learning in the year.

We really need to improve on our punctuality from last year as our lates were worse than the year before.

We also need to improve general attendance and our persistent absence. Whilst school understands children can become ill and should stay at home to recover, children can still come to school with less serious sniffles.

All Students attendance at Park Hill – Yrs. 1-6: 94.12% (National average: 94.69%)  

• School attendance was lower than national average last year.

Reception Attendance for the year 2025-2026: 90.87%

Percentage of pupils who are persistently absent

at Park Hill: 18.26% (National average: 13.9%)    

• School persistent absence was higher than national average last year.

A Warm Welcome Back from the SENDCo,

A very warm welcome back to all our Park Hill families! I hope you’ve had a wonderful summer and enjoyed plenty of time together, making memories and recharging for the year ahead. It has been lovely to see our children back in school, settling into their new classes and seeing familiar faces again. As we begin another exciting year together, I’m looking forward to continuing to work closely with our children, families and staff to make sure every child feels valued, included, supported and able to be the very best they can be. Here’s to a fantastic year ahead for our whole Park Hill family — filled with learning, laughter, friendships and lots of wonderful moments!
